Get Startup India DPIIT Recognition for your business
DPIIT recognition is what officially makes you a startup in the eyes of the Government of India — and it is the gateway to three-year income tax exemption, Angel Tax relief, self-certification under labour laws and tender relaxations.
one-startup is a private consultancy, not a government body. DPIIT recognition can be applied for free on the official Startup India portal; our fee is purely for expert assistance, drafting and filing support.

What is DPIIT recognition & do you qualify?
The essentials in under a minute — so you apply only if you actually meet the criteria.
Check my requirementWhat DPIIT recognition really is
It is formal recognition by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade that your entity qualifies as a startup under the Startup India initiative. You receive a recognition certificate and a DPIIT number, which is the prerequisite for almost every startup benefit the government offers.
Who is eligible under Startup registration under DPIIT?
Incorporated as a Private Limited Company, LLP or registered partnership firm. Not more than 10 years old from the date of incorporation. Annual turnover has not exceeded ₹100 crore in any financial year since incorporation. Working towards innovation, development or improvement of products, processes or services — not formed by splitting up an existing business.
How long it takes
Recognition is usually granted within about 2 to 15 working days of a complete application. A weak or generic innovation description is the most common reason for rejection, and you can reapply after strengthening it.
What it costs
There is no government fee for DPIIT recognition. Professional fees at one-startup start from ₹2,999, which covers the eligibility assessment, the innovation write-up and the filing — the parts that actually decide the outcome.
Simple pricing, zero surprises
No confusing packages — just clear professional fees for expert help. There is no government fee for DPIIT recognition:

Recognition depends on eligibility and DPIIT approval. Tax exemption applications, funding applications, valuations, financial projections and investor outreach are not included. A presentation does not guarantee recognition or funding.
Why DPIIT recognition is worth doing properly?
It unlocks tax exemptions worth far more than the filing effort, reduces compliance load, and gives you credibility with investors, incubators and government buyers.
DPIIT recognition is a key, not a prize. Done right, it lets you:
Done wrong — a generic innovation paragraph that could describe any business — and it is simply rejected. The application form takes ten minutes; the write-up is the whole game.
What you'll need to apply
The document list is short. What matters far more is how your innovation is described — and that is what we write for you.

What happens after you get DPIIT recognition?
Recognition by itself does not reduce your tax bill. Each benefit is a separate application, and this is the order that makes sense.
Section 80-IAC
Application to the inter-ministerial board for three-year income tax exemption on profits.
Section 56 exemption
Angel Tax exemption declaration for share premium raised above fair market value.
Self-certification
Self-declaration under specified labour and environment laws, with relaxed inspection.
IPR benefits
Fee rebates on patents and trademarks, with facilitator costs borne by the government.
Simple rule: apply for 80-IAC early — the exemption covers three years out of your first ten.
Beyond recognition — all your startup needs in one place

The quote is the final cost. No surprises after you pay.

One named person from first message to final certificate.

Wherever your business is, we file for it.
Post-registration support
We also help with returns, filings, renewals, notices and ongoing compliance.
What's changed in 2026 — and why it's easier to get wrong
The scheme has been extended and widened, but scrutiny of what counts as genuine innovation has increased.
80-IAC window extended
The eligibility window for claiming the three-year tax holiday has been extended, giving newer startups more time to apply.
Innovation is assessed seriously
Generic descriptions of a trading or reselling business are rejected. Evaluators look for a genuine product, process or service improvement.
Fund of Funds and seed schemes
Recognition is the entry requirement for the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme and several state-level startup grants.
Angel Tax landscape has shifted
Changes to the treatment of share premium have altered how the Section 56 exemption is used — worth reviewing before your next round.
DPIIT recognition costs nothing to apply for, which is why so many applications are rushed and rejected. A rejection is not fatal, but it wastes weeks. That is exactly where getting the write-up done properly pays for itself.
